I won tickets from some place or another for my first Panther event, which was not my last. Even though I enjoyed the first one I attended, I was still jaded by supporting one of my local Florida teams because of the Florida Marlins (now the Miami Marlins, to prove my point, however that was not the issue). I suppose I was so excited when Florida finally got their own baseball team, I was in full gear to support them. I attended their first opening night, then they went on strike...my thoughts were, "How could players of a game where you have the most longevity (aside from golf that is) complain for more money, especially when you're making anywhere from 7 million a year and up?!?!? Well, they won't be getting any more of mine!!!" So, aside from the occasional rooting for Tampa Bay Bucks, I fell off the Florida team bandwagon. Even though they did not secure a victory, this playoff game was more than worth attendance, if only for the mere fact that it breathed a new vigor for supporting a Florida team again. GO Squirrel Nut Zippers!!!
